George Soros: The Man of Giving
Over the years, George Soros is a name that many Americans and International followers have come to recognize. He is an 85 year old billionaire and originally from Budapest. He had put himself through school in London, working as an railway porter and waiter before coming to America and pursuing finances. He now resides in New York, following political views, foundations, and contributions, especially involving the democratic issues and debates. He is a business man and a devoted democrat for over 30 years. In 2004, Soros contributed $27 million in order to defeat George W. Bush. Recently, George Soros’ support, funds, and donations have been contributed to the democratic Clinton campaign, reigning in $25 million to help with the election of Hillary Clinton. Through the end of June, Soros had donated $5 million to a super PAC called Immigrant Voters Win, which in addition, helps with the voting process of Hispanic voters in the key swing states. Soros has also donated another $5 million to a specific group called, The Voting Rights Trust. The Voting Rights Trust, is ran by Clinton’s campaign lawyer, Marc Elias. This year, people close to Soros have stated that he is more involved in democratic views. His motivation, faith, and donations lies within the Clinton’s, even though in 2008, he supported Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton. In 2010, Soros expressed some frustration with Barack, in a private Democracy Alliance meeting. Due to his frustration, he told a close source that he had regret supporting Obama over Hillary Clinton.
But, he also supported and started many foundations that he has felt very strongly about over the past years. He started the Open Society foundations, an organization that supports human rights in 100 countries and supports democracy. In addition to his organizations and contributions, George Soros is a also the Chairman of Soros Fund Management LLC. His focus has been world foundations, where has provided $13 billion over 3 decades to defend human rights. He has helped shape the democratic process in Eastern Europe and in the U.S., he helped lead profits to health care and education. George Soros is a supporter of refugees, providing $500 million to refugees and migrants in Europe. In the past, he has provided gifts to organizations to help immigrants. Over the years, he has provided devoted gifts to various organizations that support immigrants.
